Imun-Model United Nations

At SKVV, we aim to create critical thinkers and knowledgeable citizens about current affairs and social issues so as to become proactive students who can communicate their own ideas to the world around offering constructive solutions to the problems faced by the modern world. To give hands on experience to our students to the perturbing challenges ahead and to give a bird`s eye view about world polity. Model United Nations is conducted annually in association with IMUN MODEL UNITED NATIONS or MUN. It’s is an educational stimulation in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations and the United Nations. At an IMUN conference, students work as diplomats of a country, addressing an issue having an international dimension.  IMUN enhances the participants’ skills like research, public speaking, debating and writing skills besides critical thinking, team work and leadership.  Our students (Delegates) participated with enthusiasm and showed their talents.

We are elated to share that our esteemed institution is awarded with the Model United Nations and received the certification and honor.

IDS-International Dimension in Schools Award:

IDS is a prestigious award from the British Council. This program aims to bring out the innate talents of the school students by providing an international collaboration among the chosen participants’ schools. The students who are involving in this wonderful program will be given an opportunity to study about the divergence and convergence in the cultural, socio-political another country and to make a comparative study with his/her home country. We are proud to announce that, in the year (2020-2021) our school was awarded with the distinguished IDS award and a certificate of appreciation for the stupendous projects presented by our knowledge seeking and multifaceted students of our school.

Annual (Culture) day:

Cultural celebrations foster respect and open-mindedness for other cultures. Celebrating our differences, as well as our common interests, helps unite and educate us. To understand other’s perspectives, to broaden our own, and to fully experience and educate ourselves, the Annual Cultural day of SKVV was celebrated on 18th December. Students of all grades participated with full vigor to manifest the cultural talents imbibed in them which was really a magnificent wonder of wonders.

Students Council Election:

We at SKVV try to create next gen citizens who can excel and contribute for the development of the Society and to strive to reform the society in the days to come. To instill and to develop the qualities of a leader in every SKVian, Students’ Council is formed in the school to give hands on experience to the students who crave to become the leaders in the days to come.

At SKVV, Election to the Student Council was conducted on 7th August. Mr.Puzhendhi consented as the guest speaker and motivated our new leaders. The election was conducted in a democratic manner replicating the democratic process of Election followed in our country. Members for the Students’ Council were selected by the students thus giving a comprehensive idea about the election process and about different procedures followed in India.

Annual Sports Meet:

The mission and vision of SKVV aims to prepare each and every student of SKVV to become global citizens playing their assigned roles by destiny and fate in the days to come.  Playing sports teaches lessons of life, such as teamwork, accountability, self-confidence, responsibility, sportsmanship and self-discipline. Sports in school help prepare students to face the challenges of life. They enhance physical and mental abilities of students and help them achieve the goals of their life.  The Annual sports day was conducted on 10th October and all the achievers were awarded with certificates and trophies.  Moreover, the best house was honored by the renowned chief guest of the sports day.

Parents Orientation Program

Parents are the backbone of our esteemed institution who were always instrumental in framing the scholastic and co-scholastic activities of our school. Parents’ orientation programs were conducted at periodic intervals in order to sensitize the parents about the various activities planned by the academic heads for the current academic year and to get constructive suggestions from learned and experienced parents for better implementation.

Independence Day Celebration:

The day of 15th August in 1947 has been embossed in the golden history of India. It is the day when India got its freedom from the 200 years of British rule. It was a hard and a long high stakes struggle in which many freedom fighters and great men sacrificed their lives for our beloved motherland. This year being the 75th year of Indian Independence which is also titled as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is celebrated with great pride and zeal with a plethora of activates to transcend and to sustain the value of Indian Independence in the minds of the Gen next SKVians. Our patriotic SKVians participated in various competitions conducted by CBSE in full fire in order to exhibit their emotional connect with their motherland.

Cyber Safety Awareness Program:

We care for our students even beyond the school hours and make ourselves sure that SKVians and their families are updated are able to use technology safely and secure manner. The ongoing pandemic has forced each of us to be on the virtual mode in order to conduct the teaching learning process and to realize the exceptional learning goals achievable in letter and spirit. In order to sensitize our vibrant and curious SKVians and their parents about the hidden threats in the cyber world, lot of Cyber Security Awareness Programs are conducted both in virtual and offline. The parents and students become aware and utilise the online world in a very protective ways.

Mental Health Awareness Program:

In the pandemic world, the students are encouraged to participate in the online virtual classes like attending the classes, writing the exams and uploading in the given online platforms. So, the students are mentally depressed and needed guidance for the mental health and physical fitness.

Our school conducts many mental health programs for the parents and students and educating them and made them comfortable. In one of the programs, Mr. Sethupathi, psychiatric, the renowned speaker gave a wonderful training to the parents and students strengthened them in technical ways. By the program, the parents and students became aware of mental health and started live follow the strategies he shared in the training.

Gallantry Award Online Program:

Gallantry Awards have been instituted by the Government of India to honor the acts of bravery and sacrifice of the officers/personal of the armed forces, other lawfully constituted forced and civilians. To show their interest and grateful to the great personalities, our school students too participated enthusiastically and showed their gratitude to the national warriors which was conducted on 25th October.

Environmental Protection and Plastic Free Day:

June 5th is celebrated as World Environment Day all over the world. It is a day to spread awareness about protecting the environment for the continuation of human race on this planet earth. As the part of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, various programs are being conducted in our school campus in order to instill the spirit of conserving the ecology among the SKVians. Achieving Sustainable Development Goals becomes the mission of each SKVian on the campus in this academic year in letter and spirit. Literary competitions were conducted in order to carry forward the spirit of SDG among students.

Career Guidance Program:

A successful life is an end result of a series of carefully chosen decisions in life. We at SKVV help each SKVian to chisel and to shape his/her career by understanding the potentials imbibed in each one of them. Career Orientation Team of SKVV gives the students a comprehensive picture about various career opportunities available across the globe and educate them about what to choose after Grade XII through various programs such as Talk with the Experts and through direct field visits to various Universities and Work Spaces thus giving a hands on experiences about different career prospects available to each SKVian to meet the challenges ahead in their lives.

Covid-19 Vaccination Camp:

The present pandemic situation made us to gear up physically and mentally in order to face the ordeal created by COVID 19. Falling in leaf with the guidelines prescribed by the Government of Tamilnadu, all SKVians were vaccinated with the first dose of Covaxin on 4th January with the consent of their parents and thus became the global warriors against our fight against COVID 19.
